I checked out the first episode of Solty Rei last week. I never bothered with the fansubs because I'd heard it wasn't that good of a series. But the first episode was all right, and with Carrie Savage in as Solty, the English audio is full of win. I think I might grab a few more eps of the channel and then pick up the boxed set from Funimation -- it'll only be $37.79 for me the next time rightstuf.com has a Funimation sale.

I recently got Afro Samurai and well I love the 6 channel sound on the encode. But i'm not really sure about the anime, and it just seemed ... ... kinda fast.

I watched Tsubasa Chronicles complete with the 5.1 sound, it was amazing can't wait for the second series.

I've been watching Arigatou's release of Jinki: Extend lately, to see if it's a decent mecha anime or a complete multiple-timeline jumbled mess. After 6 episodes, I can't make a decision one way or the other.
